Dr. Smith was born in Fort Worth, Texas, moving with his parents to Joshua at the age of 3. He was reared on a small farm in Joshua, where he completed high school. He attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas for undergraduate degree in Biology.

He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and completed his six year residency in Head & Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern as well. He completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center (UCLA). Dr. Smith then returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, where he joined the Texas Health Care Group. Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family, climbing, biking, running, and travel.
