Rhinoplasty
The goal in rhinoplasty is a natural looking nose that compliments all other facial features and harmonizes with the eyes. It’s a balancing act between size, width, projection, slope, and angles. We evaluate the overall structure, proportions, and appearance of your face and neck and then make recommendations for the nose. The nose should never detract from the eyes and lips. Changes may involve altering irregularities, raising or lowering the bridge, narrowing or adding width to the bridge, moving the tip up or down, changing the size and pointedness of the tip, and changing the size or shape of the nostrils.
Rhinoplasty can be one of the most difficult operations to perform in plastic surgery. It requires an excellent eye for aesthetics, gentle balance, and an excellent understanding of nasal anatomy, form, and function. The nose continues to change after an operation for several years; thus, it is important that the structural integrity of the nose be sound to resist such forces of scarring and aging. A nose can be made to look good, but if it functions poorly, patients are rarely happy. The idea behind rhinoplasty is to change the nose so that it has both an excellent appearance and superior function.
